Dental Myth: My wisdom teeth came in and all my teeth became “crooked”.
Often times patients during my interactions with my clients, patients make statements about dentistry, that are commonly accepted, but simply not backed up by the facts. I try to tactfully, dispel these myths and have decided to post them, as they inevitably come up in consultations. Don’t feel bad if you believed many of these so called “truths”. I believed many of them myself, before my formal training.
“It’s just not true baby”.
Despite the commonly held belief that the eruption of third molars causes teeth, especially in the anterior, to shift has been proved false. Numerous studies have shown, patients without third molars had just as much anterior crowding as patients with third molars.
